Big Waves in Medewi

Located around 2 hours drive or 72 kilometers west of denpasar and best to leave early in the morning and beat most of it; the area has a forest with “ketket”, or thorny trees. The thorny forest means “Alas Meduwi” in Balinese. Because of this. People agreed to call it “Meduwi”, then changed into the current name of Medewi. The beach is flat, stony, and has long rolling waves, so it is very suitable for surfing and sunset watching.

As soon as you arrive at this west coast, you'll feel blowing wind and great wave...a feel for how surf travel in Bali used to be...Lush tropical landscapes give way to ricefields spanning right to the sea and your hotel is located beachside in front of Medewi's classic long lefthander. There are also heaps of good river mouth set ups along the way, and rarely anyone surfing them.
